Jay's Memorial Ride
About 100 cyclists gathered last night at Jason Lapierre's townhouse for a memorial ride to Cochrane and back, the same route Jay would have ridden on his last day. It was an easy cruise into Cochrane, then an all out hammer up the hill! A short ceremony at the crash site, then back to town. I think everyone took a bit of energy and inspiration from Jay, as there were many smiling faces, and a lot of enthusiasm. I have a bunch of pics from the ride I will post today or tomorrow in my photo Gallery.

I'm glad to see so many people out for this ride. I had to work otherwise I would have been there. I made the trek past the accident scene last Monday on my second-to-last training ride before IMC and I have to say, Jay really did pull me through the last 30km of the day. I left some of the inspirational quotes I carry with me in my cycling wallet under one of the rocks at the memorial... one of which was the infamous Lance Armstrong quote spoken at COP last week.
Keep riding strong.
