November Beer Mile Champs
How could I write about November and miss such a pivotal event?Since Carson won the last beer mile, I think he was keen to repeat his performance... so he called the masses together for what would be our coldest beer mile yet. On a dark track, partially covered in snow, and temperature hovering around -10 (?), it was the biggest beer mile to date.. with close to 40 participants.
Pre-race excuses were exchanged, as well as a fair amount of trash talk, and we were off. Well, I have to say, after two LOUSY beer miles.. I had to try something different this time. I employed a secret strategy I had devised from analyzing my previous performances. Well.. it worked... 4 beers later I crossed the line in a PB of 8:37 and 3rd place overall.
Carson... well... his performance didn't live up to his trash talk.. and he came across the line in 9th place. Ouch. :-)
