SAIT Cross Country

Carson convinced me to race the Sait college x-c race today. I am soooo out of race shape. Got my butt kicked nicely... although my time wasn't too bad. Although not on my schedule, I plan to race as many of the Calgary Road Runners x-c series this winter as possible, or enough to qualify for grand prix placing in the series.

Beer Mile

Did my first beer mile this weekend! For those of you unaware of what a beer mile is you can go to the official beer mile website. It's just a silly unofficial race among friends. I finished in 11:50. Not fast, but a fun time anyways.

Summer is Over

The days are getting shorter, the nights are cooler. Labour day has passed. Summer is officially over.

It has been an exhausting summer, and I'll be happy to not travel anywhere for a while. In a short two months I travelled to:
Edmonton - Great White North Half-Iron
Winnipeg - Glen and Allisons wedding
Sylvan Lake - volunteer and watch the half-iron race
Europe - Germany, Denmark, Netherlands and Belgium in 12 days.
Penticton - to watch Ironman Canada
I have actually got sick of travelling! (GASP!) Ok... for a bit. You can read about our Euro trip on Lyndseys musings page.

Haven't really decided much of a plan for this winter and into next year. I'm trying to establish some solid goals to work towards, in life, triathlon, etc. I'll definitely post them here when they are ready.

One of the things I have to get started on is a re-design of this site... it's stayed the same for about two years now. I have a lot of things to add, and re-arrange. I'm quite busy with work right now, but I should be able to squeeze in a few hours now and then to get it done before Xmas!

I've already jumped back into some pretty solid training too, close to 14 hours last week. I've really seen where I can be if I stay focused and consistent. I love the training though... so it never seems like work! Have to keep it fun, or it's not worth it. :-)
