More open source...

Stop paying for MS Office (or pirating it), use Open Office a FREE office suite, that does all the same stuff (and more!) and is also compatible with all your MS Office docs.

Need an ftp client or ftp server? FileZilla rocks. Once again, open source and FREE.

Firefox and Thunderbird

If you haven't already, you need to check out Firefox and Thunderbird.

Firefox is a better browser than Internet Explorer and comes with a bunch of cool default features. And it's FREE.

Thunderbird, also FREE, is a better email client than Outlook or Outlook Express. Installation is simple and it walks you through a wizard that imports all of your mail and mail settings from your previous email client (probably Outlook and Outlook Express).

I use both of the programs every day in my job as a web developer, so I highly recommend. Click on the links to download them now!

Confederation Park X-C Relay 2005

Competed in the CRR X-C relay this past weekend. It's 3x4k. Competed with Bernie and Mike whom I ran with on my Banff-Calgary relay team earlier in the year. Very tough running 4km all out when you are a long-distance triathlete! Went out too hard and paid for it a bit. Our team managed to get 10th overall though. Not bad in a competitive field. Full results are posted here.

EMS Ambulance Chasers 10k

Placed 6th at the EMS Ambulance Chasers 10k on Friday. Did another PB of ~36:40. Clock time was 36:18... but it was off. Went out way too hard! Gotta work on my pacing!

Waldorf Cross Country

Race 1 in the Calgary Roadrunners cross country series took place at Paskapoo slopes at COP last weekend. I've been putting in the best mileage of my life running in September, but I took a rest week before this race to get ready. I did pretty well, 6th overall. My run fitness is making a huge upturn! Haven't done much speedwork yet in this run block,so it will be interesting to see what happens when I go faster and drop the mileage a bit.

I did a semi-hard (not all out) 1500scm in the pool after only a couple weeks back of training. Hit my PB of 24:45 already! I'm hoping to get my 1500scm TT to sub-23 by January.

I finally finished Scott Molinas new website. Click the logo in the left columnn to check it out. Not really that artistic, but a clean functional look. I think it has to be one of the best sites I've designed. Now to focus my attention on getting this site redesigned...
