Swimming and Xmas
Started my mileage push in swimming this week. I'm going to try and break 25k in 7 days.. it would be a big mileage PB for me. Started off Sunday with a 2k TT in 30:56. My 1500m split was 23:08, the fastest yet.
Xmas is coming soon. I'll be heading back to Regina Dec. 16-19 to do an early xmas dinner thing. The drive should be a lot more enjoyable in the Subaru! We've had our first real dump of snow this winter in Calgary and the AWD makes such a difference!
No real plans over xmas... will stay home and work I guess... maybe head out to the mountains for some snowshoeing or x-c skiing.
Beer Mile - Part Deux
More stupidity on the weekend. A chance to redeem myself at the beer mile. This time I posted a 9:14. A very respectable time. Beer of choice was Moosehead. I left the beer get a little warmer this time.. easier to chug, but easier to foam, so you have to be careful.

Last Chance Half-marathon
Final race of the season today (x-c races don't really count). Set a new half-marathon PB of 1:22:09, was 2nd place overall. I had to stop 3 times to retie my shoelaces though! I have to remember to tie them in knots or put my lace locks on my race shoes... uggh. Still, no chance of catching the winner, he was moving way too fast over the final 5k... I just kept losing time. Legs are completely trashed now. Time for a celebratory beer or two. :-)
Lyndsey had a PB day as well, despite some neck injury problems (she fell on some ice last winter.. HARD) that have been lingering all week.

Winterstart and a new car!
Raced Winterstart 5 Mile night run in Banff this weekend. Was only 15s (30:14) faster than last year, but managed to move up the placings to 8th overall (7th male, 2nd AG). It was my goal to finally break the top 10 this year... so I was pretty happy. Also, beat my friend Carson, who has been trash-talking all week long about this race!
And, my big news, I bought a red 2002 Subaru Impreza TS. I've always wanted a Subaru.. incredible AWD vehicles, very reliable.. and suprisingly good on gas. I sold my Honda Civic to Lyndsey, it will be the first car she's owned... so she's pretty excited about it.
