Deadmonton? For now it seems...

Edmonton was always a temporary stop.... somewhere to live while in the transition period from Australia.

Well... I seem to have found myself a new contract, a potentially very profitable contract. The only thing.... I have to be on site in Edmonton. I have work regular hours, commute to work, wear business casual, take one hour lunch breaks (instead of 3!).... etc. Life is coming to an end...

I've had a good run with my previous job though.. travelling all over the world while still working. I knew that sooner or later I would have to find a "real" position.... and now is the time. Edmonton though... damn. Not a bad city I suppose. Great running, good pools, even the cycling isn't as bad as I thought. The winter though.... the horrible prairie winter that I have done everything to escape since leaving SK. Calgary gets chinooks.... Edmonton gets six weeks below -20. oh joy.

Back in Edmonton...

Well... for the long weekend at least!

Heather is putting in a couple long days at her p/t retail job, and I'm actually super busy with another contract I picked up. I'll actually have enough work to get me through to a new long-term contract somewhere.

We're back to Calgary on Tuesday... yet more time on the road.. oh joy. I have a business meeting (leading to possible work in Calgary), and Heather has an interview as well. The way things are going.... we'll probably be living in Calgary again this winter.

I've decided to nix the Kelowna Apple from my schedule at this point and add in the Revelstoke hill climb on September 9 (will post details here). After riding hills all winter I've discovered that I can actually climb! I guess all I needed was some specificity... funny how that works. Being a skinny climber type helps too.
