The only constant is change

The title of this post is originally attributed to Heraclitus, a lesser known Greek philosopher, but one of the earliest to discuss the universality of change. We are all somewhat resistant to change. Change is the unknown, the uncomfortable. Even if change is for the better, we sometimes resist.
I've had to accept and embrace, and even initiate change more than ever lately. My life is almost a complete opposite of a year ago.

On that note... yet another change has occured in my life. Heather and I have ended our relationship.

Life changes...

Sorry for the lack of updates... I've had a few people ask me why... well.... I'm BUSY!

1) Work
New job. Full time. Commute to downtown Edmonton. A bit stressful, and plenty of difficult work. I had to spend a large amount of time over the past two weeks shopping and purchasing over $1000 worth of work clothes. I'm still not done.

2) Work2
Another contract.. of which I was working all summer, has still not completed. Add another 10-15 hours week of work on top of my full time job

3) Training
Trying to get my run in shape for some fall running races. Doing the odd ride as well, when the weather co-operates. If I get in two swims a week... that's a good week!

4) Moving
I bought a condo in Edmonton. In Callingwood (if you know the neighbourhoods). Had to go back to Calgary on the long weekend to pick up bunch of gear. Plus, all the tasks with the mortgage and other stuff. As well, I helped Heather move to Calgary to start her position. She finally found a full time job at Alberta Distillers.

That's a quick overview of the daily things that have eaten up my time lately. Hopefully things will settle down after I move into the new place and get rid of my side contracts.

One quick note.. I raced the Summerside triathlon at the end of August. I entered the day before.. just for fun... and managed to get 4th place. Felt pretty good actually.. but had the worst transition imaginable in T1.... I ripped my wetsuit.... time to buy a new one for next season I think!

I'm actually considering entering a fall marathon... but haven't decided yet... a guy I was running with this past weekend suggested Sacramento. I'll see how my run fitness comes along....
